What are the possible complications?

Severe vomitingepisodes can lead to:

  • dehydration
  • oesophagitis (inflammation of the gullet lining)
  • a tear in the lining of the gullet
  • tooth decay
  • gastroparesis (where the stomach cannot empty itself of food in the normal way)
  • gastroenteritis
