EXIST Business Start-up grant

EXIST

The EXIST Business Start-up Grant supports students, graduates and scientists from universities and research institutes who want to turn their business idea into a business plan. The start-up projects should be innovative technology or knowledge based projects with significant unique features and good commercial prospects of success.

Zana has been funded for the period 01.01.2018-31.12.2018 under the EXIST Business Start-up Grant for a total of 103 000€. (Förderkennzeichen 03EGSBE388).

The EXIST Business Start-up Grant is a support programme of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy and is co-financed by the European Social Fund.

 

INNOLABS Award

 

Zana has been considered among 25 most innovative project to empower mHealth by INNOLABS, an EU Project under the EU Framework Program for Research and Innovation. INNOLABS provided an award of 50 000€ to the joint venture of Zana and Ticino Health for a project of 9 months that will be finalized on September 2017.

INNOLABS project aims to foster collaboration, transfer of knowledge and opportunities among SMEs from different countries and sectors in order to develop, improve and deliver disruptive technologies mainly related to mHealth, personalized healthcare and ageing populations.

 

Ticino Health is a company composed by a network of clinics in the region of Ticino, Switzerland. Benefiting from this comprehensive network of clinics, Ticino Health is a strategic partner of Zana within the INNOLABS award and beyond.

 

Other supporters


The European Medical Association was founded in 1990, in Belgium. Doctors from all 12 member states (at the time) formed the core of the unique, independent, non-profit organization. The basis of our partnership involves connecting Zana users to health professionals through EMA, acting as a liaison when medical consultations are needed. In addition, EMA represents an opportunity to expand Zana’s knowledge, given EMA’s extensive network of highly skilled and renowned European medical experts.

 

Zana is partners with Suisse Health Company SA, a health company which provides medical expertise support. SHC also provides with trusted medical professional members who contribute their vast medical knowledge in the Zana Medical Advisory Board.


Microsoft BizSpark is a global program that helps startups succeed by giving them free access to Microsoft cloud services, software, and infrastructure. Zana makes partial use of the Microsoft infrastructure in its day to day operations.

 

CyberForum is a company that supports innovative startups through a number of networking activities. The primary aim of CyberForum is to bring together entrepreneurs, founders, creative minds, students, business angels and trainees. At Zana we have a long collaboration with different teams from CyberForum.


PionierGarage is a university group at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology. Through our events and activities, they promote the entrepreneurial thinking and actions of the students in Karlsruhe. We started our operations day using the PionierGarage coworking spaces. We still enjoy participating in their events and value the entrepreneurship spirit at PionierGarage Karlsruhe.


Zana is partners with the European Institute of Neurosciences. This partnership was achieved thanks to our close discussions with the Scientific Director of the European Institute of Neurosciences, Prof. Giovanni Broggi, MD. This partnership furthers Zana’s abilities and knowledge as a medical health companion by honing and curating her expertise.


Zana is among the selected startups in Plug and Play Insurtech's Batch 2. Our team looks forward to being part of this great network, validating Zana's value proposition and exploiting partnerships in the insurance ecosystem.


Zana is a part of Deutsche Telekom’s startup support program TechBoost. This agreement allows us to make use of the Open Telekom Cloud, but also includes joint sales and marketing activities. We are currently identifying the services to move into Telekom data centers and we will finalize the complete transition process within November 2018.


Zana has been selected as one of the top 25 contender startups in the Innostars Awards startup competition. EIT-Health is involved in important work to provide EU citizens with better chances at living a longer, healthier life, by postponing dependency, leveraging big data and new technologies, identifying and removing barriers to innovation, and building on education and talent creation.
